2 questions about the coming competition

Daniel
Hi,

1. During the coming competition, would there be some web page containing a scoreboard, logs, URLs to visualizers of running games, etc?

2. What would be the correct way to change/update broker executables during a competition?

Thanks,
Daniel

Links to visualizers and logs will all be on the Tournament Scheduler front page once the competition starts. At that time, there should be a tournament page that shows standings per game. I don't know whether it's computing and displaying the z-scores yet. Govert would know that.

Unless your broker is crashing, you are not supposed to do that. Since this is a demo, you might be forgiven if you do, although Wolf might have a different opinion.

If you really need to change, get the new one ready, kill the old one while it's not in a game, and start the new one with an appropriate repeat-count. An agent is only tied to a specific simulation host for the duration of a single game; the Tournament Scheduler makes the assignment when it has a game ready. The TS and server will wait for logins for a minute or two if an agent is not ready immediately, but if you delay too long the game will proceed without you. If it's not waiting for you, then there should be no problem switching.

Does this help?

Hi,

Some more info.

1 The result of the tournament will be shown here : http://wolf-08.fbk.eur.nl:8080/TournamentScheduler/faces/tournament.xhtml?tournamentId=9

The results are computed real-time, including z-scores. Check out other tournaments for examples.

2 The TS doesn't actually check if your broker is ready. It just assumes you have 2 instances running.
The TS calculates the free instances to see if a game can be run.

Once the TS starts the game, the brokers have 10 minutes to get their credentials from the TS and log into the game. If a broker fails to log in, the game will start without it.

Cheers,
Govert

Hi Govert,

Please post this info to the Wiki as well. Maybe under “Getting-Started” or a new page participating in a Power TAC tournament?

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Wolf

RE: 2 questions about the coming competition

A general question if I may...

Which is going to be the name of the competition?

In the page of the competition the name now is tezt1. Is this going to be the name?

Thank you in advance.
